As reported, the 2025 U19 Women’s U19 tournament will take place in Ho Chi Minh City in June. To prepare for this playground, the Vietnam Football Federation has issued a decision to convene forces for U19 women in Vietnam. Accordingly, 30 players trained by coach Okiyama Masahiko will officially focus and practice from May 12 at Thanh Long Sports Center, Ho Chi Minh City.
The list of summons this time gathered many familiar faces that have left an impression at the U20 continental tournament. These include the names that have impressed as goalkeeper Le Thi Thu, striker Luu Hoang Van – the player who scored the most goals at the U19 National Women’s Championship 2025, and the pillars such as Ngan Thi Thanh Hieu, Le Hong Lan, the best player of the U19 National Women’s Championship 2025, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, once participated in the training phase of the national team in 2024, as well as Nguyen Thi Thuong and Nguyen Thi Thuong.
This preparation training is not only an opportunity for coach Okiyama Masahiko to review forces but also an important preparation towards the goal of conquering the regional championship. Southeast Asia U19 women’s U19 2025 is the first tournament of coach Okiyama Masahiko to lead a young female team of Vietnam after signing a contract with Vietnam Federation of Vietnam in March. This Japanese expert has a lot of experience with women’s football, so it is expected to create a strong resilience for young Vietnamese female players to develop.
